Online courses available also in other Finnish universities!

Finnish universities have agreed to make some of the open universities’ courses available for all degree students across the country, irrespective of where the student studies in Finland. This enables the students to continue their studies during the exceptional situation.

The national course catalogue was published on 23 March, 2020. At the moment, over 100 courses are offered by the open universities of the following institutions: the University of Helsinki, the University of Eastern Finland, the University of Jyväskylä and Chydenius Institute in Kokkola, the University of Lapland, the University of Turku, the University of Vaasa and Åbo Akademi University.

You will find the list of open university courses offered for degree students (at the moment, in Finnish only) here.

Open university instruction complies with the curricula of the universities and is approved by its faculties. Students taking those courses are responsible for having them recognized and transferred to their degrees in their own universities. Registration and other practicalities will be carried out according to the processes of the university offering the course.

Don't forget summer study options!

All summer courses offered by the Open University of the University of Helsinki are free of charge for bachelor and master's students registered as present at the University of Helsinki. Courses offered at the beginning of this summer will be organized at a distance or by other, alternative means. Upcoming summer courses are listed here.
